I have a hammer , more than enough nails and plank on me, and i have already barricaded 2 windows on the building but i can't seem to put up planks on either the door or the 3 remaining windows. I have read in google/reddit and search on this forums and apparently it has been an issue for a long time. Is this just a random bug or what exactly is happening ?.

As mentioned you can do it from both sides so 8 planks per window which offers longest protection. However be aware that having more than 3 planks on each side means you can't look out the window anymore. Also it can be benefitial to alternate between outside and inside barricading. Edit: Decided to test it again because I started to wonder if it didn't work because I didn't break the window first. With a broken window and only one barricade I was able to shoot through it, but not when I added an extra plank. It's odd and misleading, because with 2 planks you can still see through the barricade, but not shoot through it.

Same here, I just figured out that Realistic Weapon Durabilities was causing the issue. Disabled it on the load screen, started the file, option now shows up (and works) just fine. To save you the trouble in case you've also got these, I'm also using Weapon Condition Indicator and Wedge's Item Name Fixes and they weren't involved in the problem.
