Following a few suggestions online about entering in safe mode, I got into Systems Configuration (by typing msconfig on RUN prompt) but mistakenly left the Diagnostic startup on at the general tab as well as Safe boot checked at Boot tab. Now when I restart, the system no longer shows a login page.
