You have to go to your picture on the top right then earnings on the top left and that balance will be different from the balance on the main ... Uber supposedly put a stop to this sort of thing. By only charging/awarding the fee if the driver also made significant progress towards the pick up. In other words, the driver shouldn't get the fee if they accept and don't move.
